Damien Fagon Announced as the New Director of The Bronx Cannabis Hub

In a significant move for both the Bronx and New York’s cannabis landscape, Damian Fagon has been appointed as the new Director of the Bronx Cannabis Hub. This appointment marks a pivotal step in the ongoing effort to ensure that communities most affected by the War on Drugs have equitable access to opportunities in the legal cannabis industry

Fagon’s journey into the cannabis sector is rooted in a deep commitment to social justice and community empowerment. As a third-generation farmer, he has cultivated cannabis and hemp in diverse regions, including the Hudson Valley, South Carolina, and the Caribbean. Beyond his agricultural endeavors, Fagon has been a vocal advocate for the inclusion of Black and Brown communities in the cannabis industry. He has taught accredited cannabis horticulture courses at Medgar Evers College, a historically Black institution in Brooklyn, and has been instrumental in developing cannabis business incubators aimed at providing resources and support to aspiring entrepreneurs in underserved neighborhoodsIn his new role, Fagon is poised to leverage his extensive experience to further the mission of the Bronx Cannabis Hub.His leadership is expected to enhance the Hub’s capacity to provide comprehensive support to social equity applicants, including formerly incarcerated individuals, veterans, and residents of communities disproportionately impacted by past cannabis policies.
